The community of Gandoca is part of the National Wildlife Refuge Gandoca-Manzanillo. Gandoca is the last beach community on the Southeastern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. It's a remote, gray-black beach, with a lagoon and mangrooves, inhabited by mantees, crocodiles, and many kinds of birds. Gandoca is also a main nesting ground for Leatherback turtles, also known as Baulas.
Gandoca is not only a hotspot for biodiversity but also offers cultural and agricultural wonders.
